The White Show, a yearly Central Saint Martins tradition, challenges all first-year BA Fashion Design students to construct a garment using exclusively white materials. The absence of colour is intentional; as it draws focus on the form, construction, and craftsmanship of each garment. How can we create an immersive space where we can reimagine how we use our eyes? Experimental, sensory and strange; The elusive state of wondering what is? Tapping into our senses, Playground explores how we can find a sixth sense in fashion, emphasising the process of play and how we can come to an outcome from a sensory experiment. Key references include Olafur Eliasson, a fine artist who creates immersive works; Where the narrative shifts to the viewer’s experience, rather than the origin of the works created.
